About the Photographer
Thilak Sen
THILAK Sen, the founder of PET FURTOGRAPHY, embarked on his photography journey as a young boy. Inspired by his parents who gifted him an Instamatic Kodak camera on his 12th birthday, Thilak found solace in photography to express his artistic imagination. His household pets became his beloved models, cooperating with him as he showered them with love.
In addition to his prowess as a photographer, Thilak is a talented artist who has been honoured with the prestigious 'Artist of the Year' award multiple times during his school years. Renowned as a Master of Watercolour, he also possesses a deep affinity for painting with oil on canvas.After graduating from the Institute of Photography in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Thilak joined Independent Newspapers Ltd, a premier media house as a cartoonist. However, his path soon led him to discover his true calling in photojournalism. Fuelled by his passion for visual storytelling, he ventured internationally as a freelance commercial and fashion photographer. In 1999, soon after he moved to Australia, he established Thisen Foto & Art in Perth, building upon its original establishment in Sri Lanka two decades prior.
Thilak's impressive portfolio includes serving as the official photographer for selecting Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World and Miss Universe. Moreover, he has lent his expertise to international organisations and renowned product launches, such as PEPSI, Zeenat Aman Perfumes, SriLankan Airlines, KeangNam and Mitsui companies.
Driven by his unwavering passion for photography, Thilak's greatest hobby is wildlife photography. He dedicates his spare time to capturing the beauty of animals, a testament to his deep love for them.
At PET FURTOGRAPHY, Thilak's mission is to provide pet owners with breathtaking photographs that immortalize their bond with their furry companions. Recognising that pets are cherished family members, the goal is to create everlasting memories that evoke joy, love, and laughter. Additionally, PET FURTOGRAPHY is devoted to a unique project of capturing abandoned animals, showcasing their inherent beauty, and facilitating their journey towards finding loving homes.
